Lena Pope Therapists - Fort Worth
+Michelle Adams is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern for Lena Pope Counseling Services. She works out of the Fort Worth office providing Substance Abuse Counseling and also out of the Arlington office providing individual and family therapy. Ms. Adams began working at Lena Pope in November 2012, and brings a wealth of experience to the table. Her passion is to walk beside individuals, couples, and families that are seeking to improve their lives and their ability to make positive choices for themselves and their families.
Ms. Adams is originally from Louisiana, and has lived in the DFW area for the last 10 years. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. Ms. Adams has spent more than five years working with youths and their families in crisis and who struggle with substance abuse. She has worked in a behavioral health hospital, a variety of community agencies and residential drug treatment programs. When she is not assisting youths and families in creating new habits, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and dancing to the music of life.
+Kent Bass is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and works out of the Fort Worth and Granbury locations. He helps clients gain insight, and provides support as they improve their lives, and strengthen relationships. Mr. Bass joined Lena Pope in 2014 and is excited to be serving individuals and families through counseling.
Mr. Bass is from Genoa, Nebraska, and came to Fort Worth to attend graduate school. He received his Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kent has experience working with foster children, facilitating individual and family counseling, marriage counseling, and play therapy. Being a parent and husband takes up most of his time, but when he gets a chance, he likes to watch movies or play golf.
+Lindsey Beckman is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been working with a variety of clients for Lena Pope since 2012. Ms. Beckman believes her clients have the ability to achieve growth, honest communication, and self advocacy. She works with them to achieve their goals in their relationships and within themselves.
Ms. Beckman received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Abilene Christian University, and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University. Prior to joining Lena Pope, she worked with MHMR, Planned Parenthood of North Texas, and Wise Regional Hospital. Ms. Beckman currently lives in Fort Worth where she enjoys spending time with her husband, two dogs, family, and friends.
+Elizabeth Brown is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been employed by Lena Pope since 2010, joining Counseling Services in 2014. Mrs. Brown serves youth and families in both the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program and the counseling program. She believes that people have the power to change their lives dramatically through counseling, and feels honored to be a part of the process of assisting clients as they set goals, develop creative strategies, and achieve these goals.
Mrs. Brown is a proud Texan, and grew up in Bedford, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from Texas A&M University, and completed her Master of Art in Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University. In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys reading, going for walks, listening to music, travelling, and cooking with her husband.
+Paige Chambers is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Lena Pope Counseling Services and works out of the Fort Worth location. Mrs. Chambers primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well. She specializes in working with clients ages eleven and older. Ms. Chambers has been with Lena Pope since 2000 and it is her aim to help families achieve the goals they set for themselves in counseling.
Mrs. Chambers is originally from central Texas, and has lived in the DFW area since 1997. Prior to moving here, she received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She has also received her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her prior work experience includes employment at a residential treatment center, management of an after school program for Girls Inc. of Tarrant County, work with children in foster care, and work with families involved with the Juvenile Justice system. In her free time, Mrs. Chambers enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She also enjoys spending time with friends and cooking.
+Jamie Diaz is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor who rejoins the Lena Pope Counseling team as a Family Therapist. Originally from Yorktown, Virginia, Ms. Diaz received a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University, and is a Nationally Certified Counselor. She is a strength and relationship based therapist who believes that each individual, couple, and family has the ability to live healthy lives. She engages and motivates clients to make proactive, positive changes that increase the client’s hope, happiness, and success.
Ms. Diaz was an Exceptional Student Education teacher and family coach at a preschool serving children with autism from 2005 to 2007. She moved to Fort Worth in 2007 and was a Functional Family Therapist and Family Therapist at Lena Pope until 2012. She and her family moved to New Jersey and Virginia before returning to Texas in 2014. Ms. Diaz enjoys spending quality time with her husband and daughter, running, traveling, camping, and cooking.
+Holly Garrett is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist, and has been with Lena Pope since 1998. She has directed foster care services in the past and currently practices with Lena Pope Counseling Services.
Mrs. Garrett was born right here in Fort Worth, Texas and has lived here all of her life. She obtained a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington and has worked in the Arlington/Fort Worth area for more than 25 years with various social service agencies. In her free time, she enjoys travelling and gardening.
+Shana Hazzard, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has been with Lena Pope since 2000. She has experience working with residential care, foster care, and now is a practicing therapist with Lena Pope Counseling Services. It is Mrs. Hazzard’s goal to help families develop and maintain healthy, beneficial relationships. She provides play therapy and works with families and with individuals of all ages.
Mrs. Hazzard was born in Texas and lived here for several years before moving to New Jersey, Kansas City, and then Atlanta. She returned to Texas for graduate school and has been here since 1997. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Harding University, and then went on to receive a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her prior work experience has included employment with foster care agencies and with Girls Inc. of Tarrant County, and facilitating grief support groups at The Warm Place. In her free time, Mrs. Hazzard enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. They enjoy taking family vacations, reading, and going to the movies.
+Courtney Landes is a Licensed Master Social Worker working on her clinical licensure. Courtney provides counseling services to students at the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program and to students referred for counseling services through the Ft. Worth ISD Family Resource Centers. She supportively works alongside clients as they seek to make positive changes in their lives.
Mrs. Landes is a Fort Worth native, and attended the University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate and graduate degrees, and joined Lena Pope in 2013. Mrs. Landes has worked as an inpatient social worker and with adolescents and families. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pugs, working out, traveling, cooking and baking.
+Stacey Lewis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Lena Pope, and is the Counseling Services Supervisor for Lena Pope Counseling Services. Mrs. Lewis has been with Lena Pope since 2005, and it is her hope and mission to help children and families learn skills to cope with problems that life throws our way.
Mrs. Lewis is originally from Missouri and has lived in Texas for ten years. She received her undergraduate degree from Central Missouri State University and went on to receive her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Mrs. Lewis has been working with children and families since 1995. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her children, is active in her local church, and is a “proud military wife”. She loves to travel and enjoys photography and scrapbooking.
+Julia Marut is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Mrs. Marut received her Bachelor’s in Social Work from Texas Christian University, and her Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Mrs. Marut is originally from Oklahoma, and has lived in Texas for the last 13 years. She has worked in the non-profit sector since 2004, working in an array of different programs focused on children and families. Mrs. Marut has experience in individual, family, and group therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. Mrs. Marut’s personal mission is to collaborate with individuals and families to enhance their personal growth and relationships. In her free time, she likes to spend time with family and friends, travel, and hang out with her daughter and her dog.
+Sarah Rubinson is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist for Lena Pope Counseling Services. Sarah has been at Lena Pope since 2012. Sarah has worked in a variety of mental health areas including domestic violence, residential and school settings. Her passion and specialty is working with children through play therapy, but enjoys seeing a variety of ages. Mrs. Rubinson strives to positively impact her clients by empowering them to obtain their goals and reach their potential through cultivating strengths and providing a safe environment.
Mrs. Rubinson was raised in the Pacific Northwest in the small town of Gig Harbor, Washington. She received her Bachelor’s degree at the Metropolitan State College of Denver with an emphasis in aviation technology and anthropology. Several years ago, Mrs. Rubinson and her husband relocated to Fort Worth to be closer to family and to pursue graduate education in counseling at the University of North Texas. On her down time, Mrs. Rubinson enjoys keeping busy by riding her bike around town, swimming, spending time with family and friends, and working on home improvement projects.
+Christi Weaver is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She graduated with her Master’s Degree of Science in Social Work from UTA. She joined the Lena Pope team in March of 2012 as a therapist in our Lena Pope Counseling Services program, and is now the supervisor over Substance Abuse Treatment Services. Mrs. Weaver utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in her work with youth and adults ages 10 and older. Her goal is to equip individuals and families with the tools they need to have healthy and productive lifestyles. She has experience as a caseworker with Child Protective Services, adult and adolescent mental health, and drug prevention.
Mrs. Weaver was born and raised in Arlington, and attended the University of Texas at Arlington, graduating in 2008. She is a wife and mother of two boys and enjoys spending time playing with her entire family, listening to music, and reading books. She also loves to meet new and interesting people.
