+Kent Bass is a Licensed Professional Counselor and works out of the Fort Worth and Granbury locations. He helps clients gain insight, and provides support as they improve their lives, and strengthen relationships. Mr. Bass joined Lena Pope in 2014 and is excited to be serving individuals and families through counseling.
Mr. Bass is from Genoa, Nebraska, and came to Fort Worth to attend graduate school. He received his Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kent has experience working with foster children, facilitating individual and family counseling, marriage counseling, and play therapy. Being a parent and husband takes up most of his time, but he likes to watch moves or play golf when he gets the chance.
+Elizabeth Brown is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been employed by Lena Pope since 2010, joining Counseling Services in 2014. She believes that people have the power to change their lives dramatically through counseling, and Elizabeth loves to help clients gain a different perspective and learn new skills to help them navigate life’s challenges. She is passionate about empowering clients to pursue their goals, no matter how big or small.
Mrs. Brown is a proud Texan, and grew up in Bedford, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from Texas A&M University, and completed her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University. In her spare time, Elizabeth’s favorite thing is spending time with her husband and son. She is an avid reader and music lover.
+Paige Chambers is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and works at the Fort Worth location. Mrs. Chambers primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well. She specializes in working with clients ages eleven and up. Paige has been with Lena Pope since 2000, and it is her goal to help families achieve the goals they set for themselves in counseling.
Mrs. Chambers is originally from central Texas, and has lived in the DFW area since 1997. Prior to moving here, she received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She has also received her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has experience working at a residential treatment center, management of an after school program, work with children in foster care, and with families involved in the Juvenile Justice system. In her free time, Paige enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She also enjoys spending time with friends and cooking.
+Jamie Diaz is the Counseling Services Supervisor overseeing satellite offices, substance abuse treatment services and other counseling programs. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and has been with Lena Pope since 2008. Jamie’s experience includes teaching children with autism, providing Functional Family Therapy to adolescents, and counseling individuals, couples and families. She specializes in cognitive behavioral, systems, and strength-based therapies. She believes that every person desires to lead a healthy, purposeful, and connected life.
Jamie was born and raised in Yorktown, Virginia. She earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida. Jamie prioritizes quality time with her husband and two children and enjoys activities such as reading, watching movies, camping, hiking, and traveling.
+Shana Hazzard, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and designated clinical supervisor, has been with Lena Pope since 2000. She has experience working in residential care, foster care, providing therapy, and is now a Supervisor with Counseling Services. It is Mrs. Hazzard’s goal to help families develop and maintain healthy, beneficial relationships.
Mrs. Hazzard was born in Texas and lived here for several years before moving to New Jersey, Kansas City, and then Atlanta. She returned to Texas for graduate school and has been here since 1997. She received her Bachelor Degree from Harding University, and then went on to receive a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her prior work experience has included employment with foster care agencies, Girls, Inc. of Tarrant County, and facilitating grief support groups. In her free time, Mrs. Hazzard enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. They enjoy taking family vacations, reading, and going to the movies.
+Courtney Landes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been with Lena Pope since 2013. Mrs. Landes provides counseling services to students referred for counseling services through the Ft. Worth ISD Family Resource Centers, as well as clients at the main Lena Pope location. She is also the clinical lead in the Project SAFeR program. She supportively works alongside clients as they seek to make positive changes in their lives.
Mrs. Landes is a Fort Worth native and attended the University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Prior to joining Lena Pope, Mrs. Landes worked as an inpatient social worker and with adolescents and families. Courtney enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pugs, working out, traveling, cooking and baking.
+Sarah Rubinson is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. She joined Counseling Services in 2012. Sarah has worked in a variety of mental health areas including domestic violence, residential and school settings. Her passion and specialty is working with children through play therapy, but enjoys a seeing a variety of ages. Sarah strives to positively impact her clients by empowering them to obtain their goals and reach their potential through cultivating strengths, providing a safe environment and an additional area of support.
Sarah was raised in the Pacific Northwest in the small town of Gig Harbor, Washington. She received her Bachelor degree at the Metropolitan State College of Denver with an emphasis in aviation technology and anthropology. Sarah and her husband relocated to Fort Worth to be closer to family and to pursue graduate education in counseling at the University of North Texas. On her down time, Sarah enjoys riding her bike around town, swimming, spending time with family and friends, and working on home improvement projects.
+Martha Resendiz is a Licensed Professional Counselor- Intern and a nationally certified counselor, supervised by Jenna Mack, M.Ed., RPT, LPC-S. Ms. Resendiz received a Bachelor of Art in Psychology at the University of North Texas and a Master of Science in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman’s University. Her areas of practice include domestic violence, private practice, and school settings. Ms. Resendiz joined Lena Pope in 2016. Since joining Lena Pope, Martha has gained experience in working with children with problematic sexual behavior and juvenile drug court. Her focus is play therapy, but she enjoys working with adolescents and adults. Ms. Resendiz believes that through trust, her clients can gain personal insight and growth, which will empower them to live to their fullest potential.
Martha was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. She is the mother of two children. Having two young children does not leave much room for free time, but when she does, she enjoys traveling and hiking with her family.
+Alisha Sneed is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern, NCC, supervised by Jeremy Pierce, MA, LMFT-S, LPC-S. Ms. Sneed received her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Psychology and Biblical Studies from Abilene Christian University and Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College near Chicago, IL
Alisha primarily grew up in Keller, TX and returned to the Ft. Worth area in 2016. She previously worked with youth and homeless individuals as a missionary in Brazil, and has worked with college students, immigrants, children and adolescents in her counseling work in the U.S. as well as Chile. Alisha has worked with children and adolescents as a bilingual, English and Spanish therapist in Lena Pope’s Counseling Services since May 2017. Alisha partners with children and families as they strengthen their relationships and sense of hope. She empowers children and families with a deeper understanding of who they are and skills to cope with the difficulties and joys of life.
In her free time, Ms. Sneed enjoys exploring nature, music and new cultures with friends and family.
+Emily Blair is a Licensed Professional Counselor- Intern supervised by Matthew P. Hooten, M.A., LPC-S. Mrs. Blair attended Middle Tennessee State University for her undergraduate degree, and Tarleton State University for her graduate degree. Emily was born and raised in Fort Worth and has worked in several different realms of counseling including sexual abuse, eating disorders, anxiety and anger. Throughout her counseling career, she has primarily worked with children and adolescents, as this is where her heart is. Emily says, “My goal is to help children and adolescents become equipped to handle anything that life places before them.”
In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys. Additionally, she enjoys playing the piano, writing music, and working in the yard.
+Megan Canale is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor- Counselor Intern. Megan began working for Lena Pope in 2018. She is a graduate of Texas Tech University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 2007, and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 2013 from St. Edward’s University. Megan’s work history includes YMCA Camp Carter in Fort Worth Texas as an Outdoor Education Specialist and Residential Counselor, South Plains Children’s Shelter in Lubbock Texas, working as an Intervention Specialist at JJAEP/Santa Fe Youth Services, as a client Advocate at Safe Haven, a counselor at Lifeworks in Austin, a Crisis Specialist/Trauma Counselor/Clinical Therapist at MHMR of Tarrant County, and as a Program Therapist at Millwood Hospital. Megan says, “My goal as a therapist is to provide an open and safe environment for my clients to enable their own personal growth and empowerment.”
Megan was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. She has also lived in Denver, Colorado, and Austin, Texas. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She also presents and speaks to groups/organizations on topics including trauma, adolescent issues, and self-harm.
+Jenifer Costigan: Jennifer is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based out of our Fort Worth office. Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (BA) and Master of Science Marriage and Family Therapy (MS) from Texas Wesleyan University.
Ms. Costigan was born and raised in Texas. She grew up in Grand Prairie, then moved to Arlington around 13 years-old. Her parents are from Canada, so she spent a lot of her childhood visiting relatives there. To make traveling a little easier her parents decided to get her brothers and her their Canadian citizenships; thus, making Ms. Costigan a dual citizen. She worked in an inpatient psychiatric hospital for a year and a half, working with children between the ages of 5-12, and has experience in working with adult individuals and couples. Jenifer is committed to providing a safe and confidential environment for clients regardless of cultural or religious background, gender, relationship style, or sexual orientation. She does believe that change is difficult; but if clients are willing to work hard, she can help lead them to healthier and happier lives.
In her free time, Ms. Costigan enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, her cats, friends and family. She also enjoys taking some time out to pamper herself by getting her nails done.
+Anita Sharma: Ms. Sharma is a Licensed Professional Counselor, receiving her Master’s in Child Development and Family Relationships from the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Sharma is originally from India and came to the United States first as a graduate student, then moved to Fort Worth twenty-five years ago and calls it home. Ms. Sharma has worked in the mental health field for over twenty years, in community mental health clinics, a counseling agency, and a behavioral health hospital. Ms. Sharma’s goals for counseling are to stay positive and hopeful. She values respect, support, and encourages children and families needing help.
In her spare time, Ms. Sharma likes to spend time with her family. She also keeps up with the news and current affairs, visits local nurseries to learn about native and exotic plants and trees, and trying out new recipes and recreating a favorite dish after a trip to a restaurant.
+Paola Gordillo: Paola Gordillo is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern who provides assessments for the Juvenile Drug Court and individual and family therapy at the Family Resource Centers in Fort Worth. Mrs. Gordillo enjoys providing counseling services in English and in her native language Spanish as well as learning from different cultural backgrounds. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas where she found her passion to work with adolescents through an internship with Child Protective Services and a Juvenile Detention Center. She graduated with her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Texas Christian University where she completed her practicum at a middle school and at a substance use residential facility. Mrs. Gordillo’s previous job was as a Substance Use Counselor and a Family Therapist for adolescents.
Mrs. Gordillo was born in Mexico and has lived in the DFW area for the past 13 years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband going to church, traveling around the world, watching the same TV shows over and over, and trying different kinds of food. Mrs. Gordillo also enjoys taking kickboxing and yoga classes.
+Cindy Hannah: Ms. Hanna is a Weatherford High School graduate. She graduated from Weatherford Collage in 2012 with an Associate’s in Applied Science (AAS) in Substance Abuse Counseling; in 2017 Ms. Hanna graduated from New Mexico University with a Bachelor’s in Social Work, Magna Cum Lada; and is currently attending Western New Mexico University, earning a Master’s in Social Work degree. A lifetime resident of Parker County, Ms. Hanna worked for eight years in the funeral home industry, and seven years in the non-profit sector as a Program Director and Executive Director for Crossroads Youth Ministries of Parker County, Inc. providing services to adolescents.
Ms. Hanna states that she lives her life with no regrets and strives to be in service to humankind. A quote that continues to guide in service is, “the place God calls you to is the place where your deepest gladness and the world’s deepest hungers meet.” In her free time, Ms. Hanna enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading, working with stained glass and other crafts, and playing piano.
