Not only did CHA earn a "Met Standard", which is the highest rating possible, but we also earned a distinction for "Academic Achievement in ELA/Reading. Chapel Hill Academy Charter School Performance Framework (CSPF)


One area of academic focus at Chapel Hill Academy is Literacy.  The TPRI, an individually administered Reading Assessment is administered to each student in Kindergarten – 2nd grade.  This assessment tool enables teachers to obtain information about each student’s reading level and guides them to develop teaching strategies that will address the needs and/or enhance each student’s reading ability.  We administer the TPRI three times a year, so that progress can be monitored and students can either receive daily intensive reading instruction, small group tutoring, or reading enrichment projects.  Students are expected to practice reading at home with their parents on a daily basis.



In addition to Literacy, other focused areas of learning include:

  • Technology
  • Fine Art
  • Public speaking
  • Research
  • Critical Thinking

Research skills, public speaking and presentation skills are introduced early in their first grade year.  Annual Science Fair projects begin in the 2nd grade.  Confidence, respect and appreciation for self and others begins on a student’s first day at Chapel Hill Academy.
